Daria Taglioni is senior economist in the International Policy Analysis Division of the European Central Bank (ECB) and visiting scholar at the Centre for Trade and Economic Integration of the Graduate Institute in Geneva. Her current work focuses on the economics of global and regional value chain production, on the link between financial markets and trade, and the impacts of the 2008-2009 global crisis. In previous work she covered issues which include:the implications of monetary and financial integration and other policy interventions for trade, FDI and competition; globalization and its impacts on labour demand and international competitiveness; trade in services; estimates of trade openness and protectionism. The hallmark of her research is on data-intensive, theory-careful work.

Increasingly, she works with firm-level data sets exploiting the literature on firms’ heterogeneity, and industry composition changes.

She received her PhD in Economics from the Graduate Institute of Geneva and has previously worked as economist at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris.
