Adriaan Dierx
European Commission
Adriaan Dierx is head of the sector responsible for market integration, competitiveness, knowledge and innovation within the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission. He has been intensively involved in discussions on how to stimulate structural reforms within the context of the Lisbon strategy on Growth and Jobs. He has also worked on exchange rate and regional policy questions. Before entering into the Commission in 1987, he was employed by West Virginia University and SUNY Buffalo. Dr. Dierx has a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. He has published on EU structural reform, economic integration and regional development issues.
