Jesús Saurina is Director of the Financial Stability Department at the Banco de España. He is a PhD in Economics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and is a portgraduate from CEMFI (Madrid). Recently published, among others, in the Review of Financial Studies (credit lines), the Journal of Financial Economics (collateral), the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, the Journal of Financial Intermediation (capital buffers), the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Journal of Financial Services Research (Basel II impact on SMEs lending and procyclicality in mortgages), and the International Journal of Central Banking (dynamic provisions).
