Juan J. Dolado is Professor of Economics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He has published many articles and books on subjects ranging from labour economics and applied macroeconomics to econometric theory. He was Programme Director of CEPR’s Labour Economics Programme from 1998 to 2004, President of the Asociación Española de Economía in 2001, and has been a member of the Executive Committee of the European Economic Association since 2005. He has been Managing Editor of the Spanish Economic Review, Co-Editor of Econometric Theory (1995-2000), and Associate Editor of European Economic Review (1998-2001). He is currently Co-Editor of Labour Economics. In 2004, he was appointed member of the Consejo Economico y Social by the Spanish government. He earned his PhD from Oxford in 1988, after having done a Masters in Mathematical Economics at the London School of Economics in 1981, and a BSc in Economics and a Diploma in Mathematics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1978 and 1979, respectively.
