Lucija Muehlenbachs is a Fellow at Resources for the Future in the Center for Energy Economics and Policy. She has a B.S. in Physical Sciences from the University of Alberta and a Ph.D. in Resource Economics from the University of Maryland. Her research primarily focuses on regulatory issues in the oil and gas industry. She was a consultant to the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill on risk factors associated with offshore production. She is currently working on several research projects specific to shale gas development in Pennsylvania, including the impacts on downstream surface water quality and a statistical analysis of the chemical composition of shale gas waste sent to waste water treatment facilities.
