Mark Cassell

Mark K. Cassell is Associate Professor of Political Science at Kent State University where he teaches courses in public policy and administration, comparative public policy, and urban politics. His scholarship is mainly concerned with understanding public sector transformations with particular policy interest in financial regulation and technology adoption. His work includes How Governments Privatize: The Politics of Divestment in the United States and Germany (Georgetown University Press, 2002) that received the 2003 Charles H. Levine Award for the best book in public policy and administration. He also co-authored, with Susan M. Hoffmann, Mission Expansion in the Federal Home Loan Bank System (Albany, New York: SUNY Press, 2010). Cassell has also published articles in Public Administration Review, International Public Management Journal, Social Science Quarterly, State and Local Government Review, and Governance: An International Journal of Policy, Administration and Institutions. Dr. Cassell holds a Ph.D. and MA in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and an MPA from of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
