Nicolas Véron
Bruegel and Peterson Institute for International Economics
Nicolas Véron’s research focuses on financial systems and financial regulation in Europe and at global level. He has been involved in the creation and development of Bruegel since 2002, and since 2009 he has also been a Visiting Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington DC, spending part of his time there every month. His earlier experience combines public policy and corporate finance. In 2006 he co-authored Smoke & Mirrors, Inc.: Accounting for Capitalism (Cornell University Press). He writes a monthly column on European finance which is published by leading newspapers and online media in countries including Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Russia and Turkey.
