Paul van den Noord

Paul van den Noord is Counsellor to the Chief Economist at the OECD. Previously, he was in the Group of Advisers of the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission and prior to that, a member of the Economics Department of the OECD where he has been inter alia main author of the leading chapter of the biannual OECD Economic Outlook (the General Assessment of the Macroeconomic Situation). He started his career as a lecturer and research fellow in macroeconomics at the University of Amsterdam, where he holds a PhD. He has published in the fields of political economy, public finances, monetary policy and housing markets.
