Pietro Garibaldi

Pietro Garibaldi, a national of Italy, is currently a Professor of Economics at the University of Turin, and director of Collegio Carlo Alberto. He is also head of Labour Studies at the Fondazione Debenedetti, and research fellow at Igier Milan, Cepr London and Iza Bonn. He is a supervisory board and audit committee member of Intesa SanPaolo. He is one of the founding editor of www.lavoce.info
Between 2004 and 2005 he acted as the Economic Counselor of the Italian Ministry of Finance. He holds a Phd in Economics from the London School of Economics. He was previously an economist in the IMF Research Department and an associate professor of Economics at Bocconi University. His main research interests are in the macroeconomics of the labor market, with particular emphasis on labor force participation and the role of institutions. His main publications are in the Review of Economic Studies, Journal of the European Economics Association, Economic Journal, Review of Economic Dynamics, European Economic Review, and Economic Policy. He is also author and editor of books published by Oxford University Press
