Vito Polito has been recently appointed Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Bath. Previously he held posts of Lecturer in economics at Cardiff University and Doctoral Fellow in Economics at the University of York before coming to Bath, where he received his PhD in 2009.
Vito’s main research interests are in the field of applied macroeconomics; in particular the analysis of fiscal policy sustainability, sovereign credit risk and optimal macroeconomic policy. His latest research includes works on the development of a model-based methodology for the determination of the sovereign credit rating and the analysis of optimal monetary policy within the framework of state-dependent volatility. Vito is author of the Study Guide in Macroeconomics published by the London School of Economics (International Programmes). From 2003 to 2008 he was specialist tax consultant at the Italian Ministry of Finance.
Vito lives in Somerset (United Kingdom) with Carrie, Giuseppe and Filippa.
